We hear people say that they are inspired all the time, but I personally can’t remember the last time an immersion, at a gallery, no less, lead to hours of creating… Uninterrupted moments filming flowers in my neighbour’s garden, just because. Layering and manipulating images and film, scribbling, and polaroid taking.
For realz…
The exhibition takes the viewer through an apparent fantasy land, but actually the creative reality of the designer duo (artists’!) Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren.
Expect sketch books of ideas transposed to full length wall paper covering the generous floor-to-ceiling gallery walls. A breathtaking tapestry of Flowerbomb’s early advertising. Sealed perfume bottles as part of a hopes and dreams exhibition, representing pre-imagined, Flowerbomb. A piece from the ‘NO’ collection, to remember a couture season when the duo lacked inspiration – truthfully, It’s hard to believe there was ever a time.
