Co-founders of P.E Nation, Pip Edwards and Claire Tregoning are pretty effing cool. They’ve got ridiculous design credentials and retail smarts, and launched their debut collection OUR SPORT to a capacity crowd at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
The presentation proved that P.E Nation is as much about the clothes as it is it’s attitude. Epitomised by the co-founders, it is/they are; progressive, interchangeable, fearless, and sporty. Everything TOMBOY Beauty stands for too.
So when asked by Pip and Claire to document the beauty looks from #MBFWA we jumped at the chance at an exclusive TB X P.E beauty shoot with model Jennifer Gilmore, showcasing one of the two looks straight from the OUR SPORT fashion week stage.
THE BEAUTY LOOK
Pip and Claire:
“A key reference for us was Veronika Heilbrunner, the ultimate P.E woman. Effortless and undone, yet with consideration and natural texture.”
Carol Mackie X M.A.C Cosmetics:
“It’s all very ’90s street: All the girls have a cool brushed up brow, but it’s almost greasy to tie-in with what’s happening with the hair. The skin is really sporty-looking, flushed on the cheeks, with an intense dewiness created with M.A.C Fix+, M.A.C Prep + Prime Care Blend Oil and M.A.C Strobe Cream to mimic sweat. We kept lips hydrated with M.AC. Lip Conditioner.”
“On some of the girls’ eyes (not pictured) we created a super bold, almost fluro squared-off eyeliner with M.A.C Chomaline in Genuine Orange.”
Brad Ngata X Schwarzkopf:
“We’re emulating a post-workout hair look but with tomboy texture. There’s two looks – one’s a ponytail tied back off with a bandana [by Australian accessories queen Poppy Lissiman] (not pictured), the second look is worn down and then really sweaty.”
“We’ve done a drop bend with some irons and used a combination of the Dust It and the Oil Miracle Mist to combine dirtyand dry texture”.
